So, my last month in my own place is halfway over. As sad as I am to be losing this space of my own, I've got to look at things in a better light: moving back in with Adelia's grandparents is what's best for Adelia, since her father is not stepping up and taking the full responsibility.

Because I want one more month in this apartment, I have decided not to inform M until March, so I can get that final month's rent. This gives me more time to pack, as well...

With that shift in perspective the decision became very easy; because, as much as I loved his father, my son needed me to take care of him and do what was best for him. I left because my son's father never put either one of us first - always wasted money and was irresponsible and never heard me when I told him that things needed to change. It was the best thing I ever did - for myself and for my son; as painful as it was at the time. I eventually met a guy who was responsible, put us first and listened to me when I told him there was a problem - what a difference. You and your daughter deserve the care, love, and respect that he is not showing you by being as selfish as he is. Go to CA and begin anew. Blessed be. less
