When people tell you that you should be working 2 jobs that pay cr** just ignore them they most likely have a good paying job and havent been looking at the job market lately. Just keep applying the worst they can say is no. sending you power to get through these hard times. By taking the job at Burger King you showed you have the tenacity to take any job that comes your way, and that is the first step! Hang in there!  less

It has taken me many years to reluctantly conclude that there is no point in discussing religion with the great majority of them.

Wish me luck that all goes well, cause this is the awesomest job opportunity I could have gotten!

I deny no one their beliefs, but it hurts when they deny everyone else. I was catching up on Sandy news on Yahoo this morning, and there was an entire thread devoted to God (that is, very clearly the Christian God of the New Testament) and many people who were getting butt-hurt because others were saying that they didn't believe. Out of all the comments, the worst ones were from those very same Christians, not from the atheists or people of other beliefs. Were there a few from those people? Of course, everywhere you go there is. But it's rather sad when those who claim to have the right of things in compassion and love are so hateful. Why can't everyone just get along, no matter who they believe or don't believe in? That's why I love it here; all of you are so accepting no matter the god or goddess (or plural) you follow. I just wanted to say thank you, and to anyone affected by Sandy here are good vibes for you.  less

I do have to shake my head about some things, though...every place outside of levee protection was given a MANDATORY evacuation order, but some decided not to heed it; now they're complaining because they are stranded in flooded areas and have to *gasp* wait to be rescued. Can people be any more stupid? Generally a MANDATORY anything indicates that it is required, yeah? Frankly, I have no sympathy for them being stuck, since it was their own decision to stick around after being told to leave.  less

  Elsurie Still here lol! Isaac is on top of us now, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast. Still have power (obviously!) for now, though it flickered quite a bit throughout the night. Our area so far minimal flooding.

    Elsurie We're still doing fine. Rather bored, lol. We are among the lucky to still have power. The baby is, though, wired for sound. She's used to going for several walks a day and here we are day #2 and no going outside.
