unemployed at the moment. I have worked retail in various fields including leather supplies (Tandy Leather), grocery, music, and malls. I have painted houses. I have worked with horses since I was about 14. I have been a "roadie" for rock bands. I am not limited except by what is physically possible.

I call myself a Taoist-Pagan with Druid Tendencies. That's pretty self-explanatory. I am also eclectic-solitary as far as my practices go, but since I moved here I've connected with a local Druid Grove. I read Tarot and am told I'm very accurate.
Who am I
Who am I? How do I define something impossible to define? All I can do is give a basic outline. I am independent and stubborn, but then I am Celtic three ways--Irish, Scottish and Welsh. I love all animals especially horses and cats. I read voraciously and watch far too much TV. I write and draw and do a variety of creative activities. I am an old school "metal-head" as far as music goes, but I am not limited to just heavy metal and rock as I also love Celtic, Folk and Filk, New Age, Jazz, Blues, and even some classical.

Food; I do NOT eat mushrooms at all. Gross. I also call myself a "pepper wimp" as I don't even use the black table pepper that everyone else uses. Yet I love real Mexican food, which is NOT spicy--it's Tex-Mex that is spicy. Real Mexican has the spicy stuff on the side. And I usually order sour cream on it anyway. I love to bake and have a definite sweet tooth. And I do enjoy a nice steak and potatoes dinner.

Let's say heros are idols, because when I see the word "hero" I think Saturday morning cartoons--Superfriends and Justice League. But if we say idols then I can get into real people. First, Steve Perry (the singer for Journey), Chris DeGarmo, ex-guitar/songwriter for Queensryche (they were never the same after he left), Charles DeLint, author and one of the first to write what is now called "Urban Fantasy", Walter Farley for writing the best horse series ever with The Black Stallion series--going with him to his barn and getting to ride his mare Tena was a highlight in my life. I could probably come up with more along these same themes.

I thought I covered some of this up a few boxes. But Ok. Books/authors Kelly McCullough's WebMage series, Rob Thurman's Nightlife (Cal Leandros) series, C.E.Murphy's Urban Shaman series. All three of these series feature well-written snarky/sassy main characters and all three authors are relatively new on the writing scene. Anything written by Michelle Sagara West, she does use either last name, her series are complex with great characters. Charles DeLint, again anything he's written is good, but I liked his really early High Fantasy work best. Then I got into the Paranormal Romance genre and found Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series, Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry and Anita Blake series, and authors like Sophie Renwick, Jean Johnson, Kresley Cole, Nina Bangs, Dara Joy, Cheryl Brooks, Angela Knight, and many more.
Musically a few of my favorites are Blind Guardian, Emerald Rose, Tempest, Queensryche, Uriah Heep, Rush, Journey, Aerosmith, Jackson Browne, Craig Chaquico, Iron Maiden, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Metallica, and many more.
Dislikes
Number one dislike would be a liar. Number two would be a thief--and if you think about it even a murderer is thief of a life. Mushrooms are right up there as well. Lima beans. Rap/hip-hop music. Breathing smoke (hack-cough). I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now. These get the main ones. Liars and thieves are definitely the big ones.

DryadMeAgennPretty much a totally lost day for me today. Allergies woke me about 4 AM with sneezing and a nose that wouldn't quit running. I've watched a couple ok, but non-memorable movies, started reading a book and listened/read the tornado warnings in the area. (All for north of where I am--just severe T-storms starting here). No energy today for anything. Still want to go back to sleep.

Now I know--so I implemented something resembling an exercise plan... starting with trying to walk around the neighborhood at least once a day. And maybe plan to go up and down stairs a few times for each trip needed... This will also help get me in shape for all the walking at the upcoming Festival season! Wish me luck in keeping to this. I'm writing on the calendar each time I walk. I know changing my diet would help, too--but I just like bread and cookies too much. less

Had that first interview, had second interview and got sent for drug test--knew at that point that job was only part-time (15 hrs/wk), but figured foot in the door, and enough to pay rent... then today I called to see if I had it or not and found out what the pay rate was. :( almost $4/hr LESS than I've made in nearly 15 years, and much less than half of what I made at my last job. With those hours it might be enough to pay the electric bill... certainly not enough to be worth my energy. When I asked about moving up quickly, it turns out that even a lower-level mgmt position pays considerably less for a move-up employee than it does for coming in to that position. So it doesn't pay for me to start at that PT position, when as an outsider coming in (And with my experience I'm well qualified!) to the low-level mgmt, I'd be starting at closer to the pay I'm willing to work for...even though still considerably less than my previous job. This after a rough bit with my car last night. I'd had it in the shop (waiting for part now) and they cleaned her, including wiping the dust off the steering column. I didn't notice they had hit this button on the top, and I'd never figured out what it did anyway. Turns out, it keeps the parking lights on, even if the car is powered off... yep. dead battery by the time my neighbors told me they were on at 10 PM. But AAA recharged it this moring and it's all good now. less
