Growing old/older

  • Well we have age milestones through our life.

    Being born.

    Starting school.

    Going to Jr High school.

    Going to High School.

Then the milestones (or nails in the coffin).

18 you are of draft age! For me and some of you out there that was a big thing! Remember THAT lottery, you didn’t want to win.

    21 you can buy booze.

25 my sister told me I was stuck at this age since she is 4 years older than me. LOL

30! NEVER TRUST ANYONE OVER 30!

40 ugh I’m getting up there!

    50!!!! ½ a century old!

    55 oh well age happens.

I am only yes only 57 so I don’t know what 60/70/80/100 will bring BUT I am looking forward to seeing them!

I should have had a recorder going the other day as I drove to work because I had a lot that I was going to say and I forgot most LOL!

What I do know is I have been blessed seeing what I have.

    The big history events.

    1st man in space

1st man to circle the world in space

1st pictures of this wonderful planet from space

Deaths of very prominent people (too many to note)

    Man on the moon

    Peace marches and riots

    Challenger

    Columbine

    Columbia

    The world trade center

    These just name a few

    The Major events

    My sons and daughters births

    1st steps

    1st words

    Mother Nature at her fiercest

    Major forest fires

    Earthquakes

    Floods

    Blizzards

    To name a few

    Mother  Nature at her finest

    Sunrises

    Sunsets

    The Yosemite Valley

    Lake Tahoe

    The Redwoods

    The Grand Tetons

    The Rocky Mountains

    Many streams, rivers, lakes, waterfalls

That is just a short list.

I have had many hardships, pleasurable and aggravating moments.

Now instead of dreading another birthday I look forward to them wondering what I will get to witness next.

I try to enjoy each day and look forward too the next. My mother lived to be 100 years old and as I noticed her getting older I saw that all she had was love in her heart, she accepted everyone for who they were, she tried not to pass judgment. She kept humor in her life each day. She enjoyed the little things in life and as I look back she gave me my love for nature. So I guess what I am trying to say is celebrate each birthday as a new chapter. Embrace each day for want it can give you.  I could go with all the witty sayings that have come out through the years. Just keep moving, no matter how much it hurts (physical or mental). I do not know how long I have left BUT I am going to enjoy every day I have left on this world.
